The details for the international cooking contest for the visually impaired – Golden Eye Chef 2022 were announced in a virtual program (https://youtu.be/k93caDpagQQ) on 16th August 2022 at 8 PM IST by the team members of the golden eye chef 2022. The virtual announcement of the competition apart from the founder of the contest, Mr Akhil Srivastava, was bestowed with the presence of the Golden Eye Chef team members.
One of the team members for the contest, Masterchef Aditi Bhutia Madan, also famously known as Momo Mami, talked about her wish to support the contest throughout her life. She also praised the path paved by the contest for the visually challenged. Celebrity Chef Inder Dev reminiscenced about the first edition of the contest and how he felt amazed by the courage of the participants. He was all praise for the passion these contests possess which inspires them to pass all the hurdles they encounter. Chef Kuldeep Singh, another team member, was also pleased by the grand success of the past Golden Eye Chef editions.
With the founder of the competition Mr Akhil Srivastava flagging off the event, the enthusiasm is set to soar to new heights, given the competition this time will have international participants too.
The past successful editions of the Golden Eye Chef Contest did not fail to bedazzle everyone who witnessed the brilliant culinary skills possessed by the contestants. This one-of-its-kind culinary contest for people with visual impairment, is officially back for yet another edition.
The Golden Eye Chef Contest 2022, started with video submissions round beginning on 16th August. This round is set to commence on 5th September 2022.
Who all can participate?
Like previous editions, there are two categories- one for totally blind and another for partially blind participants.
Anyone who is legally blind and with a valid certificate of blindness can be a participant and 18 years old or more on August 16, 2022.
There would be no discrimination on the basis of the location, gender, race, etc. of the eligible participant. The contest has free participation, so no registration fees required.
Awards
There will be twelve awards in total. The Jury Awards will be Golden Eye Chef 2022 international as well as runner-up 2022, most innovative recipe and best traditional recipe 2022 in both the categories. The jury will judge the recipes keeping in mind the creativity, originality, presentation, flow of work plan and the nutritional value.
